Any personal data provided by you to Jo Rose Therapy through any means will be held and processed in accordance with the data protection principles set out in the UK General Data Protection Regulation to provide the services you have requested.

When you request counselling with, or provide your personal details to, Jo Rose Therapy, you will be asked to consent to our processing of your data in accordance with the terms of this policy.
 
What information do we collect?

Counselling Requests – you may request access to our counselling service over the phone or in person or via this website. Our request process involves providing us with your name, address, telephone number and email address. We may also request information on your availability, therapeutic issues, and other details which we deem relevant to processing your request.

 

Initial Assessment Appointments – at an initial appointment we ask about your current personal, social, medical and financial circumstances. We may also ask about your background and family history, as well as the issues which are affecting you now. We require this information so that we can decide about our offer of counselling to you.

 

Counselling – if we undertake counselling for you, we will collect a range of personal data from and about you, including special category (such as health) data.


Website
Our website is hosted on the secure online website Wix.com. By completing an online enquiry form, Wix will hold anonymous and also personal data (your name, email address, phone number and other messages to us). The data can be deleted on this platform by the user on request. Please email  jorosetherapy@gmail.com to request deletion.
 
We use Google Analytics to collect anonymous data relating to user behaviour and ‘web traffic’ statistics. The collection and use of this data by Google Inc. is subject to its own Privacy Policies.


Other Forms

The information you give us on our forms (including all enquiry and application forms) may include your name, postal address, email address, phone number and other messages to us.


What do we use your information for?
We use information held about you in the following ways:
 

  • To provide clients with the professional counselling service requested from us.

  • To enable us to offer appropriate opportunities and support to our counsellors.

  • To offer suitable counselling appointments, and to allocate clients and counsellors for counselling.

  • To notify you about changes to your appointments and other changes to our services.

  • To seek feedback from you on your experience of counselling with us.

  • To improve our service to ensure that it is provided in the most effective manner for you and for us.

  • To administer our service, including the arrangement of appointments, the handling of donations, and for financial control, data analysis, research, statistical and survey purposes.

  • To keep in touch with those who consent to this, for the purposes of organisational, service and professional development.

Confidentiality  How do we keep your information safe?
All information disclosed by you to us is held in the strictest confidence. Any notes we make about our sessions are anonymised and destroyed after we have stopped working together. The only circumstances in which we might disclose information would be if we believed you to be placing yourself or others, particularly children, at significant risk of harm. Where possible we would always discuss this with you first.

Our counsellors see a supervisor and may discuss our work together with them. Supervisors are bound by the same confidentiality boundaries as we are. 
 
Your Rights


You have the right to ask us to provide a copy of the information that we hold about you. You also have the right to require us to correct any inaccuracies in your information or to request deletion of your data. You may withdraw your consent for us to hold and process your data at any time. However, if you do this while actively receiving counselling, your counselling would have to end. You can withdraw your consent by contacting us at jorosetherapy@gmail.com
 
 
Changes to this policy


We may edit this policy from time to time. If we make any substantial changes we will notify you by posting a prominent announcement on our website.
